I don't think there's many on here that own or know much about Achatina tincta, (so do not be disheartened if it takes a while for you to get a reply) hopefully the small number who might know will get back to you soon. I think Polyped sells them, perhaps landsnails.org might keep some too, you could try contacting either of them they may have more useful information. Good luck

Ah well we know a lot about Achatina fulica on here (most of us keep some), if you have not kept other Achatina before and they are kept in a similar manner to A. fulica then we can offer lots of advice. Most care information on here and on the parent site relates to Achatina fulica.

Oh I have a trio of jadatzi fulica with a number of babies at the moment and have been around snails for a while-had some adult marginata before them a few years back. However, I have heard them to be referred to as semi-acquatic sometimes which is why I'm asking more about them as they have a reputation to be hard to keep. They sound similar to tigers in their care overall.

I've done a bit of google translating-seems quite a few keep them in eastern Europe- and found the following info: Temps: 25 or 26 Humidity: 80%+ Diet is pretty much the same as most GALs. And size is 11cm max so a nice size. Oh and another thing is that they are not imported anymore according to some Russian snail forum. The above trio are LTC.

Fantastic that you found this info! It would be lovely if you could keep us updated as to how you get on with them and what conditions you find work as it may be very useful for others who may keep these either currently or in the future

Well I haven't got them yet but hopefully I will get them soon. Someone else told me this on another UK based forum: Temps in the area average 27 - 32C, wet season is v v wet.
So I'd be aiming for a temp of about 28C as snailies tend to be nocturnal anyways and a reasonably high humidity ~ 75-85%.

But then, they also love dandelions and rocket as a general rule... Dust it up with Ca powder or even a rep multivitamin and leave em with a cuttlefish chunk and your golden
(I found that breaking it up and putting the cuttle shell side down helped stop it going soggy)
