Hey I went away for the weekend on Friday and came back today, and my snail Brian who is around 3 years old was upside down in the tank, he was half into his shelter so I know he hasn't fallen. I noticed last Thursday that he had retracted far into his shell, but bathed him and left him on his food. He's never done this before so I was a bit worried. Anyway I picked him up and when I tipped him the right way all this pale red watery stuff poured out of his shell, and he's so far in I can only just see him. I bathed him in warm water but he's pretty hard to the touch and does smell weird. I'm so so so sad, please tell me he isn't dead? I don't know what to do!

I'm very sorry to say that he has died. fluid pouring out of the shell when uptruned + deep retraction + smell + hard to the touch means that he is certainly dead. There is no chance that he is alive i'm afraid. I'm so sorry

I'm very sorry to read about your snail Brian, I know its hard on you even having as many snails as we do here it always catches me hard when one slimes off to the place that snails go. But I always find that Another snail comes along who needs a home and that I can then help this one.

Glad to hear that you have another snail and yes it'll do both you and Mabel good for you to spoil her some.
