Thanks missjuniper Poor things, so cute even when they're in a bad mood. Hopefully they don't know what my laughing at them means.

Oh man, I couldn't resist. "Grumble grumble grumble... snail keepers ain't what they used to be grumble grumble..and that one snail (not pictured) is eating the remains of the sweet potato and we're not doing anything about it, we're just sitting here looking pissed off. Grumble!!" And here comes my big grumpy snail as a response to Kamerplant's: Taavetti was taking a walk on the glass wall, and I thought I'd gently mist him because he loves showers. Except that he did not exactly love getting a shower this time.

Lol, he looks more massive in the photo than he really is, his shell is about 10cm. But he's grown a lot since he arrived here!

Lol yeah, poor snails, after all they get grumpy over matters that must be very serious to them! Great photo, it always looks so funny when they manage to climb something that has thin branches. Like my Tiger snail sometimes climbs the spider plant by taking a bunch of leaves under him! Is that a Ficus benjamina, by the way? (btw: I measured Taavetti, his shell was actually 7.5 cm. So that's a correction to what I said above. Turns out he looks bigger than he is IRL, too, not just in photos!)

Taavetti had been sleeping on top of the root, and he was slowly waking up, stretching himself, preparing to snail down. When I went to take a closer look at his stretching routine, this was his reaction: He obviously didn't appreciate having an audience! BTW, doesn't he blend in great to the colours of the root?

Oh Taavetti, you photobomber you with that super grumpy face of yours! Also if you look carefully, the small thing on Taavetti's right is Mauno's eye.

Zorst, looking forward to you joining the thread! I'm sure you'll have lots of material. Ahh, I missed the chance for a great photo - I couldn't sleep much last night due to the flu, so when I was up, I checked on the snails too to get my mind off being sick. One time when I looked, Ewert the Tiger was in the snail bath tub; he bathes a lot all right, but this time he was actually on his side, carefully positioned so that his breathing hole was above water, as were his eyes. Everything else of him was underwater, and he was gently stroking his own tail with his lips. He seemed to really be enjoying himself. My phone's battery ran out right then, so I couldn't take photos! Darn! In the morning he was found sleeping in the pile of sphagnum moss next to the bath tub, with his entire shell showing, when usually he digs a huge burrow and hides himself completely. He must have been like "Ahhhh all that bathing made me so sleepy, I'll crash right... HERE." So I'll have to just leave you with those mental images, and I really hope to get real pics of snaily funniness to show soon again!

That sounds great the mental image is of one really happy snail there laid out on a comfy bed in bliss and worn out from his bat lol. The bulldozers all took turns at the bath last nite I checked on the at one time n 4 of them were piled on top of each other trying to fit in lol talk about a pool party. I've got bronchitis so like you I'm not sleeping that great right now. But this morning those Bulldozers were all asleep under the over turned snail bath lol.

Lol! I wonder what happened at the end of the pool party, when they decided it was a good idea to turn the bath tub over. Such a coincidence that we're both ill. I hope you feel better soon! At least snails make the sleepless nights feel less bad. Also when I'm ill, I'm really glad that my pets are snails, as they'll be just fine even if I stay the entire day in bed once in a while. But but, back to the original purpose of this thread... *gets phone's camera ready* I'm sure someone will do something funny tonight in my tanks!

I think the pool party idea spread around all the snail tanks today whilst I was out at the Dr's, as I got home to find all the snail baths upside down with snails asleep under them in all the different tanks. These snails must be telepathic or something . I don't think there will be any movement here for the rest of the nite as there all still asleep ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ . Sleeping off the after effects of the snail pool parties I recon lol . Zorst

Zorst that's hilarious! Hey, I have pictures! Had to wait till early morning before anyone did anything funny, though. Meet my lovely mom snail Halonen (also called Hannele), the 11.5cm standard Fulica. Little Tauno is 5.5cm. They had this strange idea together about what's the right way to eat cuttlebone! I can't stop smiling at Tauno's expression in this one Halonen was actually on top of Tauno's shell! Though what's he doing now? Aaaawww, HOW sweet. <3 Halonen: "Ohhh! Now THIS is a yummy cuttlebone!!!" Tauno: "Heeeey... did you forget you're still kind of on top of me..." She didn't forget, she'd turn one big eye at Tauno when she moved her shell, careful not to hit his little face with it. I'm glad they get along these days.

My fulica sleeping tight, and they brought their breakfast/evening snack along, too! From left to right that's Taavetti, Tauno, Halonen, sweet pepper insides (which I definitely didn't place there, they've dragged/pushed it there lol) and oh, someone's shell tip at the right edge of the photo. They're sleeping on the tree root. They have this absolutely adorable sleep habit of attaching to different parts of it and pretending they're branches, and trusting that nobody sees them. I am VERY tempted to touch them when they do that, but then they'd learn they can be seen and maybe stop doing it, so I must resist! Looking forward to more of other people's funny snail photos, keep posting them guys!
