Lol exactly, poor guy. Ewert has safe places yes, when I set up the new tank I put in an extra thick coir layer so Ewert can dig a very deep tunnel if he wants to get away from everyone (and he does that every once in a while, too). Halonen on the other hand isn't into digging at all, so that solves it for Ewert.

Thanks Zorst. Out of this batch, I myself laughed the most at Mauno, because 99% of the time he's so sophisticated and all kinds of lovely, never making a face like mommy Halonen in the last photo or anything - and then, just what happened?! We can't be perfect all the time! Very funny photos!

Lol, thanks Mango, and you are right. Hehe I feel like a paparazzi now, catching the ridiculously photogenic snail's silly moment and showing it to everyone. Poor Mauno.

Yeah I've only seen Halonen dig once, it was to lay her mega clutch in the winter. Funny how she's so big but she rather climbs than digs. Zorst I hope you get your computer issues sorted for good soon! I want to see the wooing photos.

LOL! So do I I'm on a knackered borrowed lap top that I can't put my photo program on. But as usual its funds n the quote for the new battery n work on my lap top is near on €150.00. So need some wages first. Hopefully will be sorted before to long as this Dinosaur really is on its last legs. But we keep limping onwards.
The bulldozers have been busy again so we have another clutch of eggs, hopefully more than one will hatch this time. The Immac babies are all doing very well and are very active in there new tank.

Two slightly different sized fulica from a slightly unusual angle. I don't know why, but I LOL'ed when I saw this. I'm not even trying to understand this time.

Rubio, my immaculata panthera is doing this for hours. What is he thinking? Does somebody have funny ideas?
I think he wants to eat that pumpkinseed but he's too lazy to move and keep (leteral) 1 eye on it closely to make sure no other snail is going to eat it...

Lol Selena, yes, he looks like he's thinking "It's POSSIBLE that if I pull my eye in, someone steals the seed! So I must not pull my eye in! Too bad I'm not hungry enough to eat it now! I just don't want anyone else to have the seed!"

Poor Tauno was attention deprived, he kept kissing and patting Halonen for sooo long, with his bulge growing and growing. Halonen was in very deep sleep and didn't react at all. When she did finally react (not pictured), she uncurled her face but didn't push her eyes out, and turned her sleepy face at Tauno, who then stopped and snailed away. She was like "Can't you see I'm too tired for love? I can't even get my eyes to pop out of my head!" Just a little later, I was looking for her and then saw the huge eye stalk protruding at me from behind the plastic plants. "Maybe HERE I get my sleep in peace!"

It's a giant snail version of my avatar! I didn't see what caused her to be all that way, though. My avatar snail didn't enjoy getting the cold shell when he tried to woo another snail. Not impossible for Halonen either, I suppose. Also yesterday one of my snails retracted only his pupils as he was falling asleep. Now there was a hollow look in his eyes...! I couldn't get a photo though.

I put a pile of mealworms in the tank. Right after I closed the doors, Halonen started singing the famous silent opera called "Where Art Thou, O My Mealy Worm"! I didn't dare to re-open the doors because I didn't want her to stop! After a few minutes: "THERE! THEY MUST BE OVER THERE!" *makes a snaily run to the pile of worms, and eats the whole pile in one long sitting* Note to self: If you buy mealworms again, take a biiiig can of them. A biiiiiiiiiiig can of mealworms.

I admit I rolled on the floor with laughter for that one. Great. Now I have lint all over me.

Thank you so much all, I'm very glad you like them. The best thing is that I don't need to set my snails up for these pics. SpontaneousTigress, the snail face truly is a funny thing! I also love how the smallest species have basically the same face and same expressions as the biggest African ones. Anyone is welcome to join in with funny snail pics, I'd love to see!
