Oh no. We wanted to see pics of that species lol. Depending on how big the species is, and how badly the shell got cracked, it may just repair itself and he'll be fine.

Where do you live? about how big is the snail? Round shell or long shell? is the shell transparent? What color is the body? What color/s are/is the shell? I'll see if I can find something online that is a possible match.

One of my snail tanks lids i was trying to get off was sticking and when i got it off it flew backward and my snail flew off and the tip of his shell broke off and its leaking slime! His shell was strong yesterday when i found him and now its really thin. (he's the snail that changes colors just so you know) As long as it's just the tip of the shell and it's not caused an actual hole through it, it should be fine. Snails often lose the very tips of their shells. By the way, what exactly do you mean by the snail "changes colors"?

The shell is transparent with a bit of color. The body is yellow. The shell has black and gray. Thanks!

If i put him on moss he's light green. That kind of stuff.

I'm thinking maybe the substrate it's on is just visible through its body. Does it look like an amber snail?

The shell has black and gray. Thanks! Could it be Succinea floridana Pilsbry? As HelixPomatia said, it's probably the shell reflecting or showing through the colour of whatever the snail is on, rather than the snail itself actually changing colour - there's no way for a land snail to change colour like that

Thats just what he looks like! Thanks does anyone know how to care for them? They're commonly called the "Florida chalksnail". Succinea species usually live in marshy areas, so I assume they like it fairly damp. Apart from that I don't know a whole lot about them - if you Google for the species name or the common name you may find out more about them.

Succinea or amber snails are pretty cool because it seems like they are 'reverting' or evolving back into aquatic conditions. They don't have the features of "primitive" pulmonates like eyes at the base of the head + operculum, so it seems like the previous is true. They will inhabit very wet, marshy areas like morningcoffee said, but don't go into the water. Naturally they would eat algae, lichens, and other small plant matter in those damp areas. You may as well try feeding them fruit/veg and see if they will eat that too.
