Some species do bury and that's normal. But I rarely see my fulicas bury though, my margies do that a lot.

My adults only bury to lay but some of the younger ones spend quite a lot of time under soil.

My fulica use to bury when they have to lay eggs, when the humidity is low or when it's too cold, either they stay out of soil. Others species use normally bury themselves during the day, to come out by night.

My fulica never burrow, although they hide under the moss. My Lignus also never burrow, they just hang off the leaves of their tree.

That's strange, my fulica like to burrow. They mostly do it if they can't get into a hiding place after they eat but Aggie will upturn anything new in the tank and burrow under it, I don't know why - do your snails do that?
