My sister just got a blue mystery snail to go with her betta and nerite tiger snail in her 5 gallon aquarium. The snail has a split shell but she insisted on that one. It appears to be healing but what can we do to assist it. She named him Hawkeye.

I don't think there is too much you can do other than provide calcium. There is a liquid calcium additive for aquariums (i use to use it when I had marine and freshwater snails). That should give it the calcium it needs to repair the shell.

If the betta/nerite tiger snail seems to be bothering the blue mystery snail, you may want to put the mystery snail into a separate tank while it recovers.

I've seen reptile calcium could I use that?

It should not affect the betta if used in the correct amount. Eggshells would likely not be enough unless the snail is eating them and reptile calcium will cloud the water too much.

Thank you I talked to man at a local store who said something about turtle calcium blocks and kale. Thank you for your help.
