So one of the egg clutches hatched! I now have dozens of baby apple snails! I am pretty sure that apple snails are okay to ship, I'll double check, but if they are, I will soon have some for sale!

Well its been a while, but I am now the proud owner of a lovely and active snail that I believe is probably a Mesomphix globosus. I will post pictures soon.

Hey Evan! Im a Florida Snail owner too! i saw on ur previous posts that you primarily have some smaller snail species and wanted to know if you would be interested in buying some Zachrysia Provisoria off me. it would be like $10 for 3 of them and that would cover shipping as well. What other snails do u have? i could suggest a trade or if u have any snails ud like to sell. Where in Florida are you? Im in Tallahassee for school and live with my parents in Orlando during breaks.

I currently just have the Mesomphix globosus (possibly a Zachrysia Provisoria), I'm not very good at IDs on snails, who I hope will grow bigger and I'm not selling currently. I am very interested in your Zachrysia Provisoria though, how big are they currently? I may be traveling to get some bigger snails in the future, so if they have babies I would be happy to ship you some.

Here's my snail, I could use some help identifying it. It's shell is a little bit smaller than a (American) dime.

Also, if you want I can send you third generation apple snails (Pomacea (pomacea) lineata) that I bred from wild caught snails. They are a little small for their age, mainly because of the size of the tank they are kept in, but when taken out they shoot right up. I would be happy to trade them for some of your snails, and I will even send them first so you know I'm not ripping you off. You might wonder why not get them from the pet store, and I say that these are so much tougher than store bought apple snails, that you might as well not buy the other ones. For instance, these are native, so they can stand the boiling hot temperatures of Florida, but they are also from north Florida, so they can stand cold temperatures too (Variations may apply, batteries not included).

Here is Ridgley eating, he loves fish food and gets it all over himself.

You know, I've noticed there are times when Ridgley doesn't want to do anything, like he's sleepy or something.

Ridgeley is definitely in the Mesomphix genus. Is the ID question just about which species?

You know, I never seem to catch Ridgley moving. I've turned him upside down to see when he moves, and a couple times I came back and he was right side up, but that might just be the work of the earthworm I put in there. Any ideas of food or moisture levels or anything that will make him more active?

Yeah, he moved about a half inch last night. Any ideas? Temperature? Substrate? Anything? He has become very antisocial.

So I found a wild apple snail and two clutches of eggs, they are currently in a tank outside. I also purchased several domesticated apple snails of various colors, I'm not sure I will keep them though, they haven't moved much. I also got a black racer nerite snail which has a zig-zagged striped shell and is very active. Fl native apple snails are extremely difficult to breed in captivity, are you sure yours are not p. canaliculata? I have one of these. There are many species of apple snails in fl.

Oh they are absolutely not native those are, unfortunately, rare.

So I went to visit some relatives in Georgia, and I found what I believe to be a baby Limax maximus! I also collected some small snails that I can't identify. I will post pictures soon.

I wish I could find some, I'd like to re-populate the local spring. It used to have apple snails, but they aren't there anymore, and then a bird (called a limpkin) that eats apple snails disappeared from that area.
