You will want to use warm shallow water, no deeper than their breathing hole. I use a cat litter tray. Sometimes I just run warm water from the tap, just a gentle flow, and holding them in my hand I catch water with my other hand and dribble it over them. Their pool in their tanks is just very shallow water in a glazed ceramic dish, and bury the bowl in their subtrate up to the rim so they can just glide straight from subtrate to water. Sometimes they like to just sit in the water, even sleep in it. it's not unusual to find more than one crowding into the dish at the same time.
