Well, i believe that it's just mine that has a weired original character, but still ;D She is very active (lately), likes the heat so the reason she is out mostly is that it's gotten warmer here. One thing that surprises me the most is that she stretches her whole body out if she sees me close, and her eyes stare at me, her lips move out forming a "O", and she keeps swaying her head from right to left a bit..It's not that she is hungry, she just does that everytinme she sees my face close..weirdo..She loves climbing on my hand, i have no idea why, and she is constantly chewing on it ( ) , it tickles but i'm used. She also often sleeps on the lid of the box, or outside, not in her shell..it's weired, but she is out, usually sitting on the oyster shell, her eyes are out (though not fully retracted), and she is sleeping...all day like this. She is very picky in food, and i mean VEEERY...she's only ate tomatoes as i remember, and once or twice she did try the watermellon..she hates cucumbers..she appeared to be pretty fast, the little thing..you should never leave the box open i tell you or you'd lose her out of sight (besiges her shell's just 9 milimeters big)..oh and one more thing, do your snails also eat once a week?...

My aspersa does that too. Often she will crawl halfway up the side of her tank and goes to sleep outside her shell. Her eyestalks will be out and gravity makes them curl downward slightly back over her shell. It's amusing to see. ;D She also sleeps sitting on her cuttle, with her head out as well. I wonder if she dreams about oysters?

yesss ..i finally managed to force her to eat calcium..She's a wild thing i'll tell you, i hardly made her realise what calcium was...or maybe she is so small that she was just unable to get it from the oyster shells i put there, (i've seen her sitting on them a lot though no effect, her shell was pretty transparent), so i crushed it into powder, now she crumpled it a bit and started licking her own shell so to say..i guess it meant building it up..(she fell two days ago, brocken her shell a bit but still, i had to repair it, and i was really affraid that she'd start eating at it in need of calcium, as i've heard some munching sound several time when she was inside)..i feel safer now..besides what i really loved, for the first time, she crawled into a small bowl with water i'd left for her and sat there for quite some time (i can just emagine the pleasure ), means she actually started realising where IS water (so far all she actually did was eat, and only when i'd sit her on the food), i'm hoping she'll be more independent from now on..it's been 2 weeks now..it's about time..

It's the weirdest thing ever. You know Margo is a very picky and bad eater.. well lately i put another guy in there, he is a bit bigger then her and i was affraid he'd stress her, so i kept a close eye on them both. However, the weirdest thing that happened was, that since he's in there, Margo seems to be eating more often...can anyome explain this?

Maybe a little healthy competition is a good thing - it's encouraged her to eat and not be so complacent!

I've read that snails become more active in general when they are not all by themselves, so perhaps that applies to eating habits as well?

Ok, well now there's something weired going on.. This big one probably wants to mate (he layed eggs twice and i'm keeping them, let's see), and he keeps chasing Margo, the funniest thing is she keeps running away. Not that he want's to rasp at her or something, but they keep runing from each other till they're tired, then they eat, and then race again..what's with the strange racing... Also, as Argo has layed eggs 3 days ago i put them in a humid enviroment, waiting for em to hatch..i wonder IF they'll hatch..hope they will, but what do i give the bays to eat, i assume they'll be the tiniest...?

wow I didn't know it was possible to keep that species successfully in captivity, what's your tank setup like?
