Hi all,
Twice this past week I have seen my margie trying to nibble on my immac. The first time I thought it was a fluke, but the second time I saw it I separated them. Looking closely at the immac, some of the flesh around his tail has been eaten away.
My immac is much smaller than my margie. They were once the same size, but the immac never grew and has always been quite small.
I've also seen him grab my iredalei.
Has anyone seen this sort of behavior before from a margie? Do you think this could be down to a lack of meat in his diet?

I've have never seen this with my margies or heard about it with adult margies.I know newly hatched young have been known to nibble on the unhatched other eggs. I would've thought meat wasn't an essential part of a margie diet.I assume you have them separated now?

I have never actually seen this but I have seen other species of larger snails rasping on smaller ones even their own species, perhaps if they are now separated the immac will grow.

Yes they are separated now. I don't blame the margie for the immac not growing as I had the immac for quite a while beforehand and he never grew much.
I remember a while ago when *sarah* had a snail attacked by a couple of her other snails. I can't remember what type they were, but she put up some shocking pictures.
I'm not going to risk that happening. I only have room for one tank so I'm giving away the margie free to whoever can collect him. I've put more details on the classifieds page.

It was some immacs attacking a ventricosa, I remember as the thread is still a sticky on Bugnation to show what immaculata can do to other species, theres been others as well finding that immacs killed, or badly attacked other species kept with them, I havent heard of it before with marginata though, maybe it is to do with a lack of meat in they're diet then? with some species requiring it more than others?

Someone local must want him! I've had an offer to send him to France, but I think he is too big and heavy to post, especially abroad. Besides, I'm half-afraid this French lady might eat him!

In France we sometimes eat snails but not everyone...and not Marginatas ! ;D What you say is really disrespectful towards this person and towards French people. She's is a friend of mine, she told me she has sent you a mail. I don't understand why you humiliated her like this. She's very nice and you don't have any right to scorn her.

Hi,
I have sent Stephanie an email to apologise. As you are French too, I suppose I also owe one to you. Sorry for offending you, but please take it as it was intended, just as a bit of fun.
I was in Paris last month and found everyone kind and welcoming, so I hope you will believe that there was no malice in my comment. I was only being silly.
Kind regards, Alex
