Hi helptoall!
Usually snails make bubbles when they're stressed, although I have never heard of bubbles coming from the breathing hole... Are you really sure they're originating from there, or do they just happen to come near?

I suppose: the angry bubbles have to come from the breathinghole since they are filled with air It´s slime filled with air and the snail will produce it when he is disturbed. The level of disturbing adds to the amount of bubbles and slime. when snails are just a bit scared by touching them or so, they could produce a sound (its also caused by air througout the breatinghole) when little snails do that, it sounds like a scream and with big snails it more like growling. when you touch the body or pick them up when they are allready disturbed they could get even more disturbed and they starting to release more air and very slipery slime ( in order to slip out the grip of an anamy i think) such produces the bubbles.
I have also seen bubbles out of the breathinghole when snails are mating (right after penetration) our when they are dying from gut extrusion (but then you allready have noticed there´s something going on)
so the produce of bubbles in most cases is normal and just to scare an anamy. Some of my species and even individual snails have this bubble behouvior even when you touch them or give them a showeer and some species won´t do it at al. t
