My big fella ( the biggest I have ) has fallen from the top of the tank and chipped the very end of his considerably large shell off on a plant pot.
If I remember my snail anatomy correctly there aren't any major organs or anything at the very extreme end of the shell, and it still looks very solid. I can't see any depth into the chipped off bit and there isn't any fluid or anything leaking from it.
He's a friendly snail, likes handling and has a huge appetite. His behaviour doesn't seem to have changed. He's still eating, exploring, interacting with his tank mates and sleeping for the usual amount of times and in his favourite places.
I think I'm probably okay to just leave it be and keep an eye on it. I wanted to ask if anyone else had has experience of this though. I don't want to lose him - he's by far the biggest GALS I've ever owned and he is the rarest I've ever had as well ( Achatina Achatina ). It took me a long time to find somebody who wasn't just selling fulica.
Any suggestions, comments or advice would be appreciated.
THANKS

graemepryce Your snail is just fine most likely the chipped off shell would just grow back since its at the very end. just continue to care for him and if you think he needs more care then you can do that. Also if he fell on the plant pot best if you put some cushion on it just in case it happens again you could put sphagnum moss or something like that to at least cushion the hard pot from the snail.
