Gemma, the last of my 4 senior Zachrysia Provisorias I got in January of 2016 from a forum member, passed away in February although I didn't post about it. She was old with bad genetics and it was her time, I don't know how she survived that long so it wasn't really much of a surprise when she left but still was saddening. Rest in peace, Gemma, precious Jewel, Garnet, and Topaz, your zachrysia "siblings" await you.
Peridot, my baby snail born in October from Jewel, my zachrysia, who likely was also Gemma's baby, died a couple months earlier. She was happy and healthy but when we moved she died in a couple days. The circumstances didn't change in her care, but the whole zachrysia family seemed to have weak genetics and immune systems and weren't the healthiest bunch despite large personalities. Rest in peace, Dot, you should have been around a lot longer and you were so easy to adore but I guess it was your time.

I'm really sorry for your losses robinwhiskers. It's a shame that beloved snails are sometimes born with bad genetics. At least Gemma lived a long time for her condition... I wish the rest of your snail family a long and happy life.
