Good evening! My name is Sam, and yes, I live in the mountains. My wife and I make our home near Asheville, North Carolina. I work in Finance & Insurance, and my wife works in sales at a local conference center. We have two brindle dogs, and two snails, except the snails are more my thing than hers.
I am admittedly an intense newbie as a snail owner. Terrence is the first one I acquired and his life is a crazy survivor story... from drying out on a piece of concrete in direct sun, to being run over by a truck, to falling off a desk, and then another even higher desk, to being chewed on by a dog, all of that within one day, to see him in all his glory now is a true miracle. His little brother (or sister) was a recent find, first seen helplessly clinging to the back door of my house to escape a massive flood. The Missus refused to let me bring it inside for fear the big fella would eat it. (Still don't know if he's the kind of snail that would eat another snail.) But when it was still in the same spot a day and a half later, I snuck it inside and into my heart. Truly no idea what genus, species, sex, name, or anything they both are, but I'm hoping to learn a lot here on the Boards.
Thanks for having me. I hope to get to know many of you.

Welcome to the forum!
For identification, I don't know much, but other members do! Just post a pic (you can simply copy/paste a link guiding to the picture) and some experts will answer!
You better expect snail crazy comments (I'm snail crazy, by the way) and snail learning!

Welcome! Hope you'll find all the information you need! That survival story is amazing, all that in a single day? That deserves respect!
