I'm keeping my babies on capillary with moss over one end, but with the minor outbreak of mites we had, I'd prefer not to use the moss until I know they're all clear. Is it ok to keep them on just capillary? Also, is it safe to bath them, or should I wait til they're older? They're not eating lettuce/courgette/thinly sliced other veggies yet, there's one hole in the lettuce leaf, but they have just nearly finished eating their egg shells. They are pooing, if only minimal amounts of white poo Normal?

I washed mine and they enjoyed it, they also poo mostly white. Makes it easy to find lol
I think Sarah said they might not eat "real" food for a few weeks?
Mine have eaten seeds and snail mix, but mine are older than yours so that might be why. They've also tucked into the cuttlefish and seem to prefer it to their egg shells.

Yes they usually go a couple of weeks without eating, although i had a couple that ate straight away, don't worry they will suddenly start eating :-)

I thought they only went one or two days without food, while they ate their shell? How old are yours now Sarah - are they all eating now?

Aww bless, your new lad is gorgeous Thanks for all the advice, I've left the tank as it is, and have been rinsing daily and micro-ing the moss, and also spraying the babies when I check on them to rinse them clean. No sign of any mites ;D
