last year i had some fulica that i let hatch, sons science teacher wanted a few so i gave her some today son brought them home from school to snail sit during half term and they are still the same size as when i gave them to her must be at least 7 months ago give or take they have no cuttle fish in tank i will be taking care of them during the next week moved them to a bigger tub and used daz's magic spray why aint they grown

Could be lots of reasons, were they warm enough? if they are kept cold they will not feed properly, also no calcium in the tank. What foods were being offered? Again if it was just something meagre like lettuce they would not have grown much. Val

all i know is they were kept in science lab at school and fed iceburg lettuce not sure about heating and there was deffinatly no cuttlefish

they need to be fed a wide variety of foods, did you know iceberg lettice is like the worse thing you can feed them as it has no nutritional value at all? are you going to speak to them about it? poor bubbas

yes i will mention it when i return them at the moment they are eating apple and butternut squash and look as if they are enjoying it i might even write up a care sheet for the poor babies

written up care sheet on all foods to feed, gave the address for invertsupplies, noted cuttlefish is a MUST im allso doing a diary of foods they eat while they are here allso is it possible to have had new shell growth since spraying with calcium last night??? ive noticed a tiny amount of growth on 4 of the 5 babies

they need to be fed a wide variety of foods, did you know iceberg lettice is like the worse thing you can feed them as it has no nutritional value at all? We've been through this before, iceberg lettuce does have some nutritional value.

deffinate shell growt but they dont seem to eat much, they started tucking in yesterday when i fed them but obviously gave up because its all still there

I suppose if they are still tiny then they won't eat much to begin with, but if the quality of their food improves then they will start to grow a bit quicker.

i put a peice of cuttle fish in today omg they love it i might ask if can keep them a few weeks and get them to a reasonable size

Did you give them instruction on how to keep them when you gave them the school?
The reason i ask is because if you did and they failed to follow them, consequently neglecting the snails, then the chances are its not going to make a difference if you tell them again. If this is the case, personally, I’d be inclined not to give them back.

when i sent them to school my son told teacher they eat most fruits and veg and needed cuttlefish i think ill have a feindly word with her and say im not happy how they were and that id like to check regular on them and if she didnt want them id be happy to keep them here

its just a shame that the teacher didn't set a better example and actually look into their care a bit more. I mean, its not like they have complex feeding or setup requirements Well done helping them anyway, hope you get it all sorted ;D

i honestly thought the instructions i gave were easy enough for a 4 year old lol feed fruit and veg spray daily they need cuttlefish dam are these teachers that thick nowadays
