What are the usual distances for Snail races?
Apparently somewhere near London they do a 100 metre, 200 metre & 400 metre race - I had no idea there were such long distances, but sounds quite interesting.
How long are these likely to take for the snails to complete as I don't want to be wasting too much time whilst visiting London

I thought the usual distance was across the table. Even 100m is a lot! The Arianta arbustorum (a small, but quite fast and lively snail) has been observed to move 15 meters during one night if there's good food ahead, so 100 meters would take days, and I have no idea what would motivate snails to move that much anyway!

TBH, I find it very hard to believe that there are snail races that long. What if the snails decide to take a break and seal themselves off?!😁
