There's something wrong with spot. His body has gone all hard and rigid. He can't retract properly, and his head is now so rigid that he can't even extend his eye stalks. I have him sitting in a bowl of water, very shallow, in case it is a dehydration problem. He is one of the unknowns from NWE. The tank is not heated now as it's too warm in the room. I am sure he is going to die, but vainly hopeing someone has an idea.

I hope he's just a bit hot and bothered, and back to his normal self in no time. But I must warn you that this is very similar to what Magenta did when she died. She didnt retract at all, she only sucked her eyes back in, then went hard Hope he's ok though (((hug)))

I was thinking about you as I typed the message, thinking it was simular to Magenta. He is just sitting in the bowl, propped up against the edge so he doesn't fall over.

Poor wee guy At least it's over though. Maybe he was trying to tell you it was his time...if you makes you feel better. Many of my critters gave me a sign, I figured that out after a while.

It could have been down to age as well. Being WC, we have no idea how old he was. He didn't grow even a sliver of new growth while I had him.

Might be getting her a friend (or 2) through Eric! I have put her with the Ireadeli for now so she won't be lonely. So far they are getting on fine.

I am also going to send Eric Spot's shell, so he can send it to the BNHM. Hopefully we will finally get the species identified!
