Good morning guys, I have some updates abt my Faitila. She has a problem with her mantle, as I wrote in previous topics and many of you may remember. Now she has been sleeping half buried in a plant pot, for 4 days now, but yesterday night something different happened: the visible part of the mantle went, from yellow to white. I know that it is the color of the epiphragm, but, usually aspersum retract totally into the shell before to do start creating it, instead my Faitila is not able to retract from long now, that's why I need some suggestion. This white part in fact looks convex, not flat at all, and very irregular, like a kind of dried foam... If she really was able to hibernate finally that would be more than amazing, but in fact i have never seen anything like this. in the first pic you can see how she was yesterday night around 2,00 am... in the following pics you can see the white stuff this morning. PS: im changing vet, because the previous one was never replying me, and the few time he did, he was not listening to me but only trying to make it quick. hard to spot her, you can find her in the soil between the two leaves, only a part of the lip of the shell and of the mantle can be seen. these other are the ones from this morning edit, h14,21: the white part is now turning darker, and opaque. anyone experienced? thanks everybody

Updatings: Faitila is still sleeping for more than one week now, and she has no smell at all, so i assume she is alive and only hibernating. Since she was not so well recently, and had the mantle swelling problem, then the mantle separation on one side weakness and so on, how long shall I wait before to wake her up in your opinion?

Eugh.. have you woken her up yet? Sorry for the late reply. nope! she slept for more than two months last year, but in the wild here they ll sleep for even longer, so I'm trying not to wake her up until the outside temperatures will be more spring-like... I know that garden snails really need the hibernation period so much, and they will live shorter if they dont, it was confirmed by several experts, so I will definately wait for the cold temperatures to be over! last year she woke up in may! i am currently misting water on her once a day, and keep the soil moisture, not too much otherwise i could wake her up! she never smell, so for now i just keep checking her and avoid her direct sun exposure, as well as keeping her a bit moist! also she must have some air movement around, so she's just in "her" room (i gave them a whole room ahahaha) but outside the tank! in fact last year she woke up by herself, and considering that she also skipped the summer aestivation, i think she deserve as much rest as she likes!
