1. I'm considering buying a land snail because they seem very easy to take care of. I live in Ontario, where many species of snail are illegal. I came across this website (myhappysnail), but the prices were very high. It was the only website I could find that ships to Canada (at a reasonable price) I'm considering getting an "Otala Lactea" snail, but I'm not sure if that's legal. With the virus going on, would it still be safe to ship? What land snails are legal in Ontario? Also, if you have any other websites, please share with me!
2. I used to house a Pacman frog, but fungus gnats have developed in his tank because of the moisture. Eventually, I gave her away to a more experienced owner. Did anybody have the same problem? Snail habitats need to be quite moist, so I'm scared that this might reoccur. Any tips are appreciated.

Hello! First off I’d like to say that myhappysnails have unethical business practices and I would highly recommend you do not purchase anything from them. I will not get into a heated discussion about this on the forum (because that website never fails to absolutely enrage me) but I WILL say that most, if not all, of the snails on that website would be illegal for you to purchase. I don’t know about Canadian shipping laws, but it may be illegal for you to even have snail species imported by them. You can own a tiger snail, a type of giant African land snail, with a permit! From what I’ve read, the species you are talking about is illegal to own. Here is a link that details some species prohibited in Canada. Last time I checked, there is contact information at the bottom of the list. www.manandmollusc.net/Odessa/snail-laws.html I had a look at what kind of moisture Pacman frogs require. Snails don’t need the tank to be sopping wet constantly. It looks like for Pacman frogs there should always be condensation on the glass..? Snails will do just fine with a few sprays of mist daily. There shouldn’t always be condensation or droplets. Mine have been fine with me just wetting the food and wiping down the walls with a dripping paper towel (my sprayer bottle is broken and I haven’t been able to get a new one because of COVID.) for almost two weeks now. As long as it isn’t dripping wet, the gnats shouldn’t come back if you cleaned them all out from last time. Don’t be afraid of COVID-19 living on your package. Just wash your hands properly. www.theindychannel.com/news/coronavirus/health-officials-no-evidence-of-covid-19-being-spread-through-mail
