Hi again! I posted here about a week ago concerning my inactive snail (https://petsnails.proboards.com/thread/18030/deep-retraction). I think I've almost solved the problem - I'm pretty sure that Pebble is carnivorous, considering he is almost exclusively interested in meat and fish flakes. Once I started giving him some raw hamburger, over the next few days he became a lot more active and stopped sleeping completely inside his shell all the time. Yay!
However, now I'm not sure what to do about his diet. For the first month I had him I didn't give him any actual meat (just regular snail foods) and he always ate them, but now he pretty much refuses to eat any fruit or vegetable unless I sprinkle a tiny amount of fish flakes on it first.
How much protein should I be giving him a week?? What are some other good sources of it? Should he still be eating vegetables too?

I'm not too sure about the protien, but you should probably give them some veggies lol. I have some predatory snails and I feed them a mostly vegetable diet of whatever I find in the fridge usually- lettuce, spinach, tomato, unsweetened applesauce, cucumber, cooked yam, etc. Nothing acidic. For protien I try to give them a boiled egg white at least twice a week. I've heard that it's okay to keep them on a purely vegetable diet though

predatory snails should definitely not have a purely vegetable diet, or even any snail for that matter. they should always get protein How often do you give them protein? basically the amount recommended is 20% a week. for my veggie diet snails i feed 40% protein fish pellets once every two weeks. for predatory snails, i usually feed them raw beef twice a week, but it depends on how you are giving them protein

I put it on top of some sweet potato so not to get it dirty, and they ate all around it but I don't think they even touched the meat. I gave a pinch of it to my Southern Flatcoils and they all ate some of it so I'm wondering what that's about :/ I also gave them a dead cricket and I'm pretty sure it's partially eaten. Maybe the meat was pre-salted or something and I didn't know, but the snails could smell it?
