It feels as though this hasn’t been done for ten years... but how about we have a snail of the year competition where we put photos down and then call a vote, comment what you think or if you want to enter!!

Also, I have an idea. How about, the post with the most likes wins. Basically, liking a post is voting for it. What do you think? yes that’s sounds like a really good plan, i don’t know how long this will last as not many people are entering but it sounds like a fab idea. Also i love your snail

We can't have a competition with only one entry(although Snug is gorgeous), so I thought I'd enter Lyra. She's a common old H.Aspersa, but she's special to me because when I found her she had lost about two thirds of her shell. She's now regrown it and is strong and healthy, but she will probably always look a bit like a patchwork quilt!
When I found her:
How she looks now:
Both the darker glossier front section and the white calcified back section are regrowth. The only part of her original shell is the shard of lighter brown shell.
