Hello guys!! I am very new to this forum and to owning snails. I have only have owned them since march so I am still learning.
I have recently rescued a snail in my back yard from a puddle that was that it was going to down in. I though the snail passed but it made it and i noticed some shell chipped and I want to take care of it for a bit.
I was wondering if i could put the snail in the same tank as my other snail that is the same size? Unfortunately I do not know what kind my other snail is because I also found that snail in my backyard. However they do NOT look the same. The snail i currently have looks like a giant African land snail but is so tiny (about 2.5 cm) and has been for months. The snail i found in the puddle shell is facing upwards as apposed to the spiral shape.
What im really asking is will the snail eat each other, fight, or even mate?
I will be making another post with pictures in the appropriate section for that. Please help look for my post in the indication tab to help me make this easier.

Some snails can do fine together - different species won't be able to mate. Some snails have different care requirements and are not suitable to be kept together, and some snails are predatory/carnivorous and will eat other snails. If you can provide photos that would help - you can post them in this thread as a reply, you don't need to start a new thread for that. You can upload your photos to an image sharing site like Imgur or ImgBB and then post the links here.

imgur.com/a/ao8B6YQI posted a few photos under that link. the one with the more cone shell I've had since March. The one with a flat shell I found yesterday. I have them in the same tank for now and I've been watching them closely. there have been no problems so far. But it would be amazing if yall could help identify these

The one with the apex shell looks like an amber snail. I can’t say I’m 100% sure about the other one, the coloring and body look a lot like a young helix aspersa, but it has a lot of spirals to be that young. Maybe it’s a Hesperian snail? Most likely it’s a helix aspersa.

Hi nyaaa, sorry, but (at least for me) it is nearly impossible to narrow the species down. First of all, would you mind to tell us, where your "backyard" is (country, state)? It's always extremely important to know the exact location/origin. Furthermore, it is extremely helpful to know the width (or hight) of the shell. Moreover it is helpful to have more than one picture (apical view, lateral view, bottom view, f.e.). Yes, might be one specimen belongs to the family Polygyridae. The other one reminds me of an Rabdotus species, but without more and better information this is only a vague, helpless guess......... . Perhaps someone with more knowledge about North-American (? ? ?) species can help you along, when he/she has got more information. Kind regards: wolf

Yes, might be one specimen belongs to the family Polygyridae. Polygyridae was my thought too at a glance. It's not a Helix aspersa.
