HI My freind asked me to look at his fulica's shell as it looked a little damaged. It looks like the shell has blistered at one point, it looked and felt a little like when you get water behind wall paper. On the rest of the shell there is yellow/orange dimpling like acid has been dripped on the shell. My freind keeps it on moss and doesn't feed acidic fruit like orange. It's in with a Iredalei which looks fine. Can anyone shed some light? thanks

Some of the rescue fulicas I had grew like that, with small blisters in their shell. As the shell got thicker and they grew further, they went away.

My Tiger babies had a similar thing a little while ago it caused them no harm and I haven't seen them with it since.

thanks for the replies. My friend thought he'd done something wrong. He was also worried that it would erode right through. Thanks Again

the blisters are still there. I don't think they'll go away that easily. The snail is not bothered by them at all.

The blisters on the Tiger shells just had a watery substance in them as I popped one and it was fine as they have grown they have disappeared haven't seen them with blisters since,so maybe they'll grow out of it.

I heard that iredeli should not be kept with other species of snail as they secrete an enzyme that can damage the digestive tracts of others. I hope this info is useful to you.
