I have a fulica with an expelled digestive tract, through the mouth.
Its not nice to see as you can imagine. It happened early yesterday and today he is alive and fairly responsive considering.
I know the outlook is really bad for this......so what is considered the best way to euthanse a snail and how is it done? I believe C02 was mentioned?? I just hate the idea he might be in pain.

Sounds cruel but its quick and panless a quick stamp directly on the shell, but i guess you could gas it some how.

I am never confident posting advice as I do not feel I know enough about snails to do so.
However, if I were to think about euthanasia, I would think about possibly reducing the temperature in the tank gradually so it gets too cold for him or even putting the snail in the freezer when it is already "sleeping."
I know I have read a thread quite recently about euthanasia and can't remember where it is now - there were other suggestions in it. Perhaps someone else will know.
