Hello I have googled and researched but there’s very little available about garden snail issues. My snail is a cepaea nemoralis (still with the juvenile hole but adult sized) and is a hatchling I raised as my snails laid eggs. Yesterday I noticed one of the snails was hanging off the back of this one and really pulling on the shell, but as they regularly interact, I didn’t think too much of it. But today the snail is moving as if it’s shell is about to fall off if it’s back. It’s very pink around the flesh that joins the shell area and it seems like it’s struggling to hold on to it. It’s dropping from side to side quite dramatically and hanging in a way I’ve not seen before.
It’s eating and it made its way to the food alone, so I’m hoping it’s something that will heal. But I’ve had snails for a few years and never had one pull the others shell to such this extent. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Hello! Your snail could have pulled something or gotten slightly injured. Rest and food should help them though. It could be normal though, they could be just a little stretched out from the climb. Snails are very strong, and can carry a lot. Does he/she appear to be in any distress?
