Hi! I’m new with snails and I was wondering if I could keep 4 snails in one tank? I have 2 cepaea hortensis and two smaller ones that I’m struggling to identify, because their shell is just yellow and slightly transparent. Do I need to separate them? If not, how much space do they need?

Hi! You actually don't have to separate them. You can make a nice community snail tank! You will only want to separate them if you have a snail that will eat the other snails (ex. glass snail.) We can help you ID the snails if you upload a photo of them! Or you can use iNaturalist. The only thing you will have to deal with is eggs. You can choose to raise the eggs, give them to someone, or kill them. If you raise them you will have to do culling, but if you have the space and time you can find a way around it (I can tell you about it if you are interested.) And if you did not know already, culling is the killing of the runts, basically. So, some snail owners I find, including me, don't really feel comfortable killing the runts unless necessary. It all depends on how you feel though. I can explain how you can do all this if you would like. I hope this helped you out, and good luck with your snail friends!
