new snail owner here! I got beautiful new milk snails yesterday!! i would show you guys a photo but i lowkey don’t know how to add one. anyways i was wondering how long it take a snail to get used to their new habitat? i want them to get used to it before i start holding them and stuff. I also noticed that my snails are kinda sensitive to sound, they hide out in their shells to some of the slightest sounds, is this normal for your guys snails?

Hello! Welcome to the hobby. You can add pictures by posting them on imgur or something similar and putting the link in your message. Theres also a way you can directly add an image onto a message and itll appear alongside what you type which you can do by clicking the little image icon that appears on a bar near the top of your screen while you type a post and you can paste an image link there.
Maybe give them a week to settle in, get used to food, etc before you start handling them. Though I won't lie to you, some snails are just born skittish so there's a chance they never accustom to being handled. Maybe try offering them food when on your hand to get them more comfortable. Milk snails also will aestivate A LOT and its just kind of natural for them. If you've never heard of it I'd suggest you read up about it.

They're adorable! Glad I could help. Its worth mentioning though that although your tank is gorgeous from what I can see, if those succulents are real unfortunately they're unsafe for snails if I'm not mistaken. Same with what I think are rocks(?) as if the snails fall on them they will hurt their shells. The general rule is that anything harder than hard plastic (excluding cork wood, sticks etc) isn't safe for the enclosure. Also, some great snail-safe plants are ferns, pothos and spider plants!

The hide's ok if its covered with moss, and I wouldn't try a clay one because I'd imagine it can have harmful ingredients. but definitely take out the succulents. I'm not sure where you got that info from but be careful because alot of snail guides out there are outdated and/or contain misinformation ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

Hi! Your snails are adorable!! ^^ I would give them a week or two to get settled in. All snails are different! I am not sure if the succulents are poisonous, but it won't do too well in your tank because of humidity, etc. Other then covering hard objects, etc, I think your tank looks amazing! We have a wonderful list on the forum you can use for adding safe plants to your tank. petsnails.proboards.com/thread/7851/safe-plants-tanks![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Oh ok! No worries! Some smaller plants you could do are pothos, pocka dot plants, spider plants, etc. Bigger plants also do well in 10 gallons tanks as well! I hope that helped! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
