Is it dangerous to feed my Aspersas with grocery lettuce? Haven't that lettuce always undergone spraying? How else can I find food in the middle of winter?

Most of us feed shop bought vegetables, you just have to wash them throughly. I've never had any problems, but I tend to use the same shops over and over.
Organic vegetables could potentially be a problem also, since modern organic methods sometimes use nematode worms to kill slugs. These worms could survive dessication for 48 hours and end up in our tanks. I don't think this is a great risk at this point in time but worth mentioning.

Not all organic methods use nematodes... Agrobio informations/magazines donĀ“t even talk about nematodes... Insects, yes.

yeah that is true but I thought it worth a mention because I did wonder myself for a bit during that spate of retraction problems, if it was caused by that. Defenders.co.uk where I get the Hypoaspis sell the nematodes though. I suppose as demand for organic products increases they will be more heavily relied upon.

You must wash and slip vegetables well before giving them to the snail (My snails eat veggies and fruits of market)
