I've had my snails Baby and Dora for a couple of months now, and we always used to spend a lot of time together. (They were very friendly, always willing to let me hold them by crawling onto my hand) but lately they've been different. They both seem to be actively avoiding coming onto my hand. If I place my hand near them, they will turn the opposite way (they never used to do anything like that). I'm not sure what to do about it. I've always made sure my hands weren't dry if I was going to handle them and have even tried luring them with food, but nothing is working. I've always been so gentle with them, and I really don't know what's wrong. It's making it much more difficult to clean their home. Is there something I might have done wrong? Or something I can do now to make this easier for them again?

Hello! Your snails could possibly have been uninterested at climbing on to your hand. I assure you they are not avoiding you, and there is nothing you are doing wrong! If they don't want to climb onto your hand, try sliding their body off wherever they are resting. Don't do it harshly, but very gently. Just place your finger on their flesh and slide them slowly, until they release, it won't harm them at all. That should make cleaning a bit easier! And hopefully they find climbing into your hand interesting again, and decide to do it! I hope that helps!

Thank you for the advice! It really reassured me and, ironically, right when I started to feel better about it, my snails started to easily go onto my hand again. They could smell my fear haha
Thank you again!
