Is this for aquatic snails or land snails?
The reason I ask is that I have actually used melafix in an attempt to treat land snails.
If it is...
I'm not sure if it did anything at all, because I wasn't sure of the problem. I'm still not. But I had a period where I lost snails, one by one weirdly to that illness where they stop eating. I called it deep retraction disorder on the website but I'm pretty certain now the visible symptoms were down to malnutrition from their refusal to eat.
Anyway, desperation set in and Daz and Linda from snails2die4 and invertsupplies gave me some melafix. I tried a very diluted solution, a few drops in a cup of water which I bathed them in. Melafix burns neat but you can still smell it even at that concentration.

Thanx Paul, the reason is that my snails (fulicas) still seem to be rasping at themselves till. I've tried added calcium. changing substrate. i am thinking now that it could be somthing systemic? Any ideas would be appreaciated

I don't think melafix will help to be honest. Are they rasping their shells or their body?

It seems to be more the body than the shell now. The body seems to br a bit darker than normal. It's been going on for weeks now I'm at my wits end now!

I have had my snails in a sterile tank for a few days now. Tango seems to be doing ok but micky and Flash have stopped eating. I have tried everything, all their favorite foods. They are looking malnurished. I don't want to lose them, I love them. Are they going to die?

Have you tried really soft foods?
When any of mine don't eat for a while I'm usually able to tempt them with really soft foods. One of my margies loves really soggy banana. (And I mean really soggy lol it's horrible but he loves it.)

Yep, Ive even tried wet rusks. I was told they were good for snails. Ive even greated up their fruit.
