This is an adult Helix lucorum. The snails are healthy, but I don't know what this circle of rough stuff is. I've also experienced aestivation papery film not properly shedding, then the snail thinks it's its shell and reinforces it, but I think the above situation is different from this time.

Hello! My sincere apology for the late reply! I hope everything is well with you and your snail! It appears to me that the part of the shell you are referring to is just new growth on your snail’s shell. It might look that way due to lack of calcium, sunlight, vitamins, etc. But it is completely normal, and shouldn’t harm your snail at all! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
