Finally, eh? It feels like it has been forever! There has been many messages. There has been much thought and consideration. Should I? Should I not? If so, how should I go about it this time? How will people react to the new way of doing business? I have decided that I will run this show on a request-based operation. I will get you wild snails based upon request and the weather. 🐌
1. You pay for a Request to end up on the list of customers who want wild snails. This cost $70 or $140. The $70 Request will get you 6 snails and includes standard shipping to valid addresses throughout Canada. Ultra remote excluded. The $140 Request will get you 12 snails and includes Express Post shipping. Payments are to be done through Interac e-Transfer during Monday - Friday, to ensure the money ends up immediately in my bank account. This allows me to immediately post the snails as soon as they are available, as opposed to waiting 3-6 days for it to be processed from something like PayPal.
2. Remember that weather plays a role in these request-based missions. If you happen to make a request during a time when my region is under extended heat and drought, I will warn you in advance before paying, that it may be a week or longer before I get you some snails. If you still decide to go ahead a pay for a snails request, I will post them as soon as I can get my hands on them. Sometimes, I happen to have extra wild snails in my possession from previous missions. In this case, you are able to get your snails posted far sooner than expected.
3. Upon collection of the wild snails, I will inform you that your request has been completed, and that I will proceed to sending it to you. First and last names, street number, name and direction, apartment number (if applicable), city/town name, province/territory and postal codes will need to be provided, if they have not been provided at the time you made the payment for your request.
Your snails are fed before they' are posted and are in good health. Refunds are only given if they are dead-upon-arrival and per snail. You will need to provide 2 photographs of evidence of the following within 7 days:
1. A photo of the shell exposing the aperture
2. A photo of the shell candled. This is extremely important for proving whether your claim is legitimate or not. Candling is when you put the shell on top of a flashlight to illuminate the shell and expose everything inside.
3. Bear in mind that refunds are also given based on my discretion. If I suspect foul play or cruelty, you will not be given a refund. Ever.
Your confidential information is kept strictly private with me, and is never given out to any other parties. Except Canada Post. 😆 Why should you trust me with your information? I have been a member of this website for 10 years and counting, contributing to discussions, and enjoying a good reputation. Robbing people or leaking confidential information is not only a federal crime in Canada, but it is also an extremely jerkish thing to do! Therefore, I have no intentions of putting myself in an avoidable situation like jail. Oh, and I'd also be banned from this forum big time!
"What If I Do Not Want 6 or 12 Snails?"
You do not have to accept 6 or 12, but the Request price does not lower, so you might as well accept them.
"What Species Will I Get?"
Mostly brown-lipped snails (Cepaea nemoralis), but sometimes also tigersnails (Anguispira alternata), Neohelix albolabris, or other even species.
"Can Those Species even live together?"
Yes, but be advised that if Neohelix albolabris notices a fellow snail that is dead or dying, they may proceed to eating them. Either remove the dying or dead snail, or separate your Neos altogether if this worries or freaks you out.
"Can I Pay you however I want, yo?"
When paying for a request, the entire payment must be made at once. No "I will pay you later", "I can only pay 50% of that", "Do it for free and I will do ABCD as a form of payment". Yes, this is supposed to be obvious, but just setting it straight for potential suspicious squirrels out there.
"Got pics?"
Yes. Pictures of your completed Request can also be provided upon request. Pun Intended.
"Do You Ship Outside Of Canada?"
No.
"Why man?"
The rules prohibit it.
