I have a cuban false chameleon which primarily eats snails in the wild. I assume they eat land snails in the wild since they apparently live in the canopy. From what I can find, land and aquatic snails have enough similar nutritional value for aquatic snails (specifically bladder snails and maybe ramshorns) to be the main staple (along with discoids) of her (my cuban false chameleon’s) diet.
1. I have seen that bladder snails can’t carry Schistosomiasis. Is this true? If so I would definitely say they are my top pick as of now.
2. How can I eradicate rat lung worm?
3. How can I eradicate Schistosomiasis?
4. How can I eradicate swimmer’s itch?
5. Are there any other diseases/parasites I should be worried about that could get transferred from the snail to me or my reptile?
6. How long should I quarantine new snails in order to kill all the above/are any of the above not just intermediate and can reproduce through just snails?
7. If all the above is eradicated, would it be safe for me to feed them to her raw? As I would love to breed them in the waterfall paludarium she lives in now which has 10 gallons and a decently sized sponge filter, plenty of biomedia and plants (which thoroughly bleach dip), and a ph of 7.5.
8. Would a macropodus work or something else that eats nematodes?
I apologize for the length but I wanted to be thorough as I would much rather breed her food so I fully know (instead of can o snails) whats going into her like I do with the discoids. I am willing to get the snails online and keep them in a separate aquarium thats what would be best.

Yes it is a snail forum, but here we talk about pet snails and how to keep them, I just think you might get better answers at www.reptileforums.co.uk

How do you guys clean your snails? That's all I really need to know haha. I just don't want me or my pet to get schistosomiasis or rat lung worm. Do you think a filter with a uv sterilizer in it in a quarantine tank for a month or two would work? Everything that disinfects fish seems like it'd kill snails is my issue.

Yea those in combo with discoid roaches are what I mainly feed her now. Would be awesome to be able to see her hunt potentially though. Plus I’d love to have some pet snails.
