Hi people! I’m getting snails this Christmas and I would ld like to know about different things! like how common is it for a single snail to lay eggs, should snails eat fruit often, and what kind of vegetables ar e the best and most nutritious for snails? how long exactly can I hold snails for (well my hand is wet of course) ? also, is kijiji or eBay reliable places to get snails? If not what are some places I could/should not get them from (talking about lands snails btw) is it cold to have a water filled plate in their inclosure, if so, how often should I change the water? is artificial moss okay for them? Or should I give them real moss? What kind of plant can I grow with snails in the winter? are hiding spots with sharp edges okay? I saw some cute hiding spots on Amazon but I was worried they might get hurt by the sharp opening? What times of day should I feed my snails? (Morning and night, evening and morning, ect) thanks for looking at my post! Hoping to get some awnsers

Hello, sorry this place is a bit of a ghost town. Single snails wont lay eggs unless theyve been fertilized before obtaining them. Most snails enjoy things like cucumber, lettuce, kale, apple, grapes, and just about any soft vegetable or fruit. HOWEVER do NOT give them citrus, onions or anything with salt, as these can be harmful. dont use tapwater, the chemicals can cause problems as well. i dont know about online shopping reliability, id go off of reviews from a good seller. a water filled plate is ok, as long as its not too deep (they can drown) and the plate isnt too hard (they could fall and break their shell on it.) Artificial moss is probably ok, and real moss is ok as well any plant will probably grow with them given good conditions, probably something that doesnt need a lot of sunlight. Things with sharp edges are alright as long as they arent like KNIFE sharp. Also be careful of placing them next to walls, they could fall and break their shell on it. To feed your snails, just place food in tehir tank and replace it every day. theyll eat it on their own throughout the night. i hope i gave you some good info

this is a little late if you’re getting them for christmas but i got my milk snails off ebay, they were packaged securely and i got a free bonus snail! They seemed very healthy, although most of them didn’t live very long. i think it depends on the seller tho. landsnails.org is very reliable but some of the snails are illegal to own in the US, so be careful with that! the guy who runs it is super nice and asked me to update him when my snails arrived.
