Hello, for everyone, I'm new here. I would like to know all about my snail: - how to take care at home - what to feed - to what size it will grow On one forum, I was told that the snail is from China or Thailand. Very similar to pseudobuliminus. A snail got into the house a little more than 2 weeks ago. I came from the market on tangerine leaves. The child wanted to leave at home, then everyone became attached to this snail. We can't make out what kind of snail it is. Maybe someone can help in this community. The dimensions of the shell are 6mm in length and 3 mm in width. It's small, but it can move quickly. We're also worried that the snail doesn't eat much. Maybe because of the winter. Maybe we don't guess her tastes. We give leaves of indoor plants, but most of all green dandelion leaves, lettuce leaves, cabbage and fruits - apples, grapes, banana. Sometimes small holes or gnawed strips are visible on the leaves - we believe that this is it. But most of the day she hides in the leaves and sleeps. Sprinkle filtered boiled water several times a day, pour grated eggshells on the bottom. Foto #1 in Google DriveFoto #2 in Google Drive
Thank you!

Hi nanslo, I suppose that it is still juvenile. Juvenile snails are often tricky and difficult to identify. Obviously the origin of your snail is not known. That makes it even more difficult. Is your snail left handed (sinistral) or right handed (dextral)? I can't tell surely on the basis of your pictures, but I think it't left handed. Right? If so, it might be a member of the family Clausiliidae, but that's just a guess. Kind regards: wolf

I hope the snail is ok and that you still have it. I can run you on te basics of garden snails, tho maybe that juvenile has slightly different needs. Do you have a newer picture of the snail? and of the enclosure you're keeping them in? For a start i would keep feeding them dandelion leaves, it's good for snails in general. Just be carefull of cleaning them up, just in case there is any pesticide on them. On the food topic, don't give them citrics, cellery, cucumber, any vegetable from the onion family. Cabbage should be fed occasionally, since it has oxalates that can inhibit calcium absorption. Oh and you gotta feed them calcium, egg shells should be enough. It's better to ground the shells since they seem to find it easier to eat it than way. Protein is also important, i'll link a video later about that. Uhhh, water. You should dechlorinate the water you give the snail. There are products for that, usually meant for reptiles, i use aquasafe, but i think something similar works. I would like to know better the species of the snail to be able to talk about space and humidity, but in general, they need quite a bit of space to move around, they are curious. maybe get the little guy a 5 galon enclosure, some dirt (which has to be cleaned first, but i can explain how i do it later if you're interested), and a few not-hard-things they can explore, for enrichment. Don't add stones since they can fall and breake their shells. I think this is the basic stuff, you also have to spray the enclosure with water, but that and how much dirt you need i can't say without knowing the species or the habbits hope this helps, even if it's a little late
