Hello everyone. Had this happen to two snails in two different tanks. One snail was in a 10 gallon fresh water tank with one other snail. The other snail was in a 60 gallon tank with a host of other snail friends. Any idea what is happening here?
I can’t add an image. Looked like part of the snail’s body was expanding like a bubble. Eventually popped or something and within a day both snails had died.

From the description, it looks like they were poisoned by something, most probably some fish meds. Nerites are very sensitive and can be affected by treatments that won't affect ramshorns or other "pest" snails. And some substances can linger in the substrate or plants for a long time, even after using activated coal in the filter. Have you done any treatment recently, or in the past months?

Another hypothesis is some sort of parasitic infection. How long have you had the snails and did they came from the same tank? You should monitor your other snails just in case...
