This evening I noticed something crawilng on one of my immacs. It was tiny,white, long and moved very fast. I cleaned the tank and bathed the snals just incase. The snails don't seem at all bothered by it. I think that it might have been a springtail. Has anyone got any ideas? thanks mickysnail

It sounds like a springtail. Try touching it with the tip of your finger and see if it jumps away. They are incredibly quick at jumping. Also, here's a close up of what they look like. If you get in real close they are large enough to ID with the naked eye:
