My snail is way back in its shell-- HELP!

Hello, I am worried because my snail is way back in its shell. What should I do? I have been touching very gently in order to help it out, but she doesn't want to come out. Is she dead? Hope not!!! I need your advise... Please.. Help

just give her a nice bath and she should come out if she isnt dead =]

Put her in very shallow warm water and hopefully she will come out. Is her tank warm enough? Or wet enough? They don't normally retract way back unless something is wrong or they are ill.

Thank you very much for your advises!!! Yes, she is alive.

I took your advises and I gave her a bath and I noticed that she moved a little, but then she went even more way back in its shell, so I gave her more water but she did not move. I left her along for a while but she still were back there. So I took my last chance and I shake the shell a little bit and then I saw that she started to come out (maybe I was making her dizzy... ) mmm.... Anyway, when she took her foot out I gently help her pull its head out of its shell by letting it crawl on my finger and slowly help it out. Then I gave her water and a lot romaine lettuce. She actually was eating..... I was soooo happy.

I also took Val advice and I change its environment in the tank. I had soil before, I took it all out and I put a lot of leaves and I spry water every where. Now the things that I am doing are: I just make sure to wake her up, offer her water and romaine lettuce. I am going to try to do this at least twice a day, so I make sure that she is eating.

I think her tank was not wet enough or she was sick as Val thought or maybe she was bored. I noticed that she was not eating much a few days ago and she was sleeping for long periods.

I think she is getting better now (if she was sick....). I hope.... She is a little more active now. Anyway I am keeping an eye on her.
