My nemoralis have recently started burying and sealing themselves in their shells. I have started spraying the tank twice a day instead of once to no avail. The temp seems ok. They chew their shells but cause no damage. There is no sign of mites. A while ago I changed substrate. I am going to return to their old substrat to see what happens. Has anyone else any ideas? Thanks mickysnail

What eat your snails? , also it is possible that it has been the change of substrate because some species get to be very sensible

Thanks for the reply Carolyne. The snails seen to enjoy most foods that I offer them. And they have been a little better since I returned to their usual substrate. They seem fine. The only problem is that they keep building an epiphragm. They havent lost weight or condition that I have noticed.

I don't think it's native to the Mediterranean, so it might not estivate in summer.
Well, I'm stumped. <shrugs> Sorry.

Mine seem to keep sealing themselves in aswell!! I Just keep spraying them with water and putting fresh food in, some days they come out and eat, but others they dont, they are certainly behaving very oddly for some reason. When they do come out to eat, they look really healthy, so i'm not too worried about them yet. I'm just going to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks. Not sure this is of any help, but at least you don't have to feel alone ;D
