Hi there,
My GALS Flora has been rather lethargic recently - after hibernating for the winter until April she was awake for a couple of months, before going back to sleep a few weeksago. When I checked on her again yesterday she had retreated so far into her shell you could barely see her - but I could see that she HAD formed the crusty cover, and she has since woken up after I sprayed warm water into her shell. However, she seems quite a bit smaller than she used to be, and doesn't seem that interested in eating. What should I do?
Thanks,
Liv

Before a snail goes into hibernation it must eat a great deal to allow for the loss in body weight which you have noticed, if it does not do so it will probably not survive the hibernation which is why most GALS owners do not allow them to hibernate at all. If I were you I would now wake the snail up by making its environment very wet and very warm and give it plenty of nourishing food, sweet potato, courgette, sweet corn and also a supply of cuttlefish.
