One of my old fulica has developed some white marks on the flesh, ive seen these marks on wild caught brixton margies before and thought it was to do with nutritional deficit. The snail has food available and does seem to be eating although the appetite has reduced as she has become older. The snail is around 6 years old. Any ideas or tips maybe a section on care of the elderly snail would be helpful!?

My older achatina had white marks too, But they stop when I kept out soil. I think it was too acid. Then I used sphagnum moss and things samed to go better, with less white marks. But I think also that white marks are normal sign of aging.

These markings on wild caught snails can also be scars from too enthusiastic mating .

Hmm one of my tigers now has white scars just behind his head where his tank mate chewed on him whilst they were mating.
