Yesterday I found 3 baby garden snails. There was one REALLY tiny one, as small as a poppy seed. They were in my bf's mother's backyard and she was tearing it up to renovate her garden, so I took them home in a jar. Now, when moving them from the jar to a different container, I think I accidentally put too much pressure on the baby or it fell or something. It's so tiny and it's not moving. I removed it and placed it on a lid, where it'd be easily noticeable if it moved. His shell just rolls around when the lid gets nudged a bit. Is there a way to check if he's really dead? I feel horrible

Don't feel horrible, we do what we can, sometimes it doesn't go the way we would like, but at least you tried.
