Hi,
I use ordinary spotlights for my tanks (and heat mats), it works very well. In Germay you pay about 10 Euro (sorry, don't know the price in your local currency...) and only a few Euros for the light bulb.

Thanks guys xx Like Cleo said you can use any lamp(but obviously place it so the snails can't get hurt). You can get them at places like Ikea,DIY stores and second hand shops for just a few euro's or pounds.

I use a heat bulb on a normal spotlight. I have tried normal, blue night light and now this one, which seems to help me warm the tank a bit more now in winter. It is far from the snails though, as it could hurt them badly and on the outside of the tank.
