Right, my snails are in the care of my mother at the moment, due to inclement weather, and I got a rather worrying phone call today.
She found three white worms, about three milimetres long, one of them with a "sort of lump like a slug has" on the back of it. She disposed of them, and said she can't see any more in the substrate (coir) but I'm still worried. Where the hell did they come from? What were they? They sound like the nematodes we use in the lab, and as far as I remember nematodes and snails don't mix.
What do I do?
EDIT - She's found two more worms, one stuck to Bas' underside, possibly in his stool, the other in the soil.

first of all, can u not swear. and about the worms, they might be something that was living in the dirt you have, and i think ur right, they're not nematodes. but could possibly be baby common earth worms.

thanks, i did some research on these small white worms, and there is a very good chance that these worms will not be harmful to you or your snails. i am almost 100% sure that these worms are some type of baby worm, and that is why they are still white. have you found any more worms yet?

Earthworms eat decomposing material. Unless a snail is dead, an earthworm will not eat it. AFAIK, earthworms pose no danger to snails.
