In the UK we call these woodlice, and lots of people use them as "tank custodians" to clean up debris in snail and other invertebrate tanks. So yes, it should be fine.

I keep a few pillbugs in my aspersa tank. I find them in my yard. They do fine.

They eat snail poop as well as decaying vegetable matter. They scavenge, basically. Whatever leftovers your snails don't eat, they will.
BTW, pillbugs roll up when you touch them, but sowbugs cannot roll up due to a different kind of anatomical structure. They are 2 different kinds of isopods.

yes, i have seen both types of isopods, but most people just call them by the same name.

Someone I know calls them doodlebugs. Someone else I know calls them roly-polys. I guess there are lots of different regional names for them.
