Had niggly tummy ache again for a couple of days, which has decided to turn into one b*tch of a belly ache today, same symptoms as before with the appendicitis, so looks like it's returned as they expected. So hubby's ringing emergency doc in a short while, but it's likely I'll be going into hospital tonight, or tomorrow morning depending on what the doc says. Fingers crossed they'll take the bloody thing out this time! Anyhoo, I'll post tomorrow if I dont go in, but I doubt that's likely. I'll pm folks to let them know about snails and things, but pm me if you need me and hubby or Kathy will pass on messages. Toodle-oo

Just to let you know, Lisa's doing really well and doesn't need surgery after all, so she's coming home tomorrow. She's got strong antibios and I'm sure she'll be back soon to update you all. I'm going away on Friday and still unpacking from the house move, so a not really available for passing on messages, sorry.

Cheeky Arno (but thanks for making me giggle!) ;D Ok, am home, been on IV antibiotics til today but have been ok-ed to come home on oral ones now. My appendix is too high up to operate on, there's too much of a risk of puncturing a lung...or collapsing it...or something like that. So it has to stay in if poss. I'm on a 10 day course of two different antibiotics, so technically that's 4 times more than last time, so if this doesn't fix it, I dont know what will Thanks for all the messages, will attempt to catch up with everyone who's pm-ed over the next day or two

Well when it rains it pours eh? Started the oral antibiotics when I got home, ended up covered in a massive rash, doc's just been out, turns out I'm allergic to the metranidazole - only reason why I didn't flare up last time I had it was because it usually only flares up on the second course if you're allergic to it. Soooo...the blistery rash on my back, and this other rash, weren't a heat rash, or shingles, they were a (quote) "massive allergic reaction". I was in a flipping hospital and they couldn't even diagnose that New antibiotics prescribed, but not as strong and only one type - so there's the risk the appendicitis could come back, but the GP said it was too risky to keep me on the metranidazole. Guess that explains the wheezy cough I've had since last time I had it too Stupid bloomin' doctors. Thank god for the lovely GP (it was the same emergency GP who sent me in to hospital the first time, I got to say thank you to her today - I didn't know it was her as I cant remember that day, but Mick recognised her).

Thanks folks. Sorry I've not been answering pms, having a nasty reaction to the antibiotics still, currently still covered in a rash, and got hands like sausages and a gob like Leslie Ash's trout pout. Shame I've got the features and body of Jo Brand really, otherwise it could be quite sexy. Well, apart from not being able to drink anything without spilling it down my face Calling emerg docs back soon, have a feeling I'll be going back in. Oh joy.

Thanks Buse, your kind words must have had some sort of power - rash and swelling is all gone now, bit itchy on my tummy but I think it's the scratchmarks healing. Ended up at the emergency docs clinic this lunchtime, the rash had nearly gone then but they still wanted to see me in case my appendicitis is returning. I do have a slight temperature so if I get tummy ache I have to go back in even if it's only mild, but for now I'm off antibiotics and on two different antihistamines for a week. So I'm just about all better Thanks again for the lovely messages
