It happened again today, when she was walking home from her friends (with her friend), they were nearly home, but were so scared to continue that they ran all the way back to her friends house to get her friends aunt - who walked them home. She (aunt) bumped into hubby and told him that she'd caught the man trying to peek out from behind a van at them when they eventually walked back along that way, and asked him to stop, he just turned away, didn't answer and when they looked again he'd gone back to his house and was on the doorstep.
Hubby now knows where he lives, so is going to have a word with his family tomorrow and let them know if it continues we'll be involving the police. I was all ready for knocking his door down when Em told us, but obviously knew better. I dont know if I'd be able to keep my cool having words with his family/carers, though, hence Mick going.
But enough's enough now - this isn't just a one off, it's the third time (Em declined to tell us that on Saturday he followed her and another friend). From now on Emma is not allowed off our street without an adult (our street is literally only a few houses long). No more walking to her friends (she was previously only allowed to if she meets her friend at the end of the road, but even so - he's followed them both now so not happening again), no more nipping to the shop - nothing. Just where I can see her, and where she can run home quickly.
Makes me so mad though - not just because I'm worried about my "little" girl, but because the system is obviously failing this man - he's either lonely, bored, or something - and he needs better supervision or a companion or a social life with people his own age. And if, and I only mean if, there is something dodgy going on - he shouldn't be out on the streets at all
