Thanks. Parents laid eggs when I changed to a much more natural setup, with branches with lichens and moss, moss substrat and wet environment. Now, what should I give them? Which kind of fruit and vegis they like? Does the babies like the same things as adults?

Hei Felix come here, you know the answer... LOL, I don't know the answer. Gawd knows why mine are surviving though. Probably pure luck and just keep praying Thanks. Parents laid eggs when I changed to a much more natural setup, with branches with lichens and moss, moss substrat and wet environment. Now, what should I give them? Which kind of fruit and vegis they like? Does the babies like the same things as adults? Well congratulations first. More lignus babies on board. ;D I have capillary mating at the base, then the moss, the eggs are just in between the substrate. I only spray the tank every few days, as there is enough condensation created inside the tank already. The tank is kept in just room temp, no heat mat or anything. A few finer apple tree branches for the babies to slimy up to the top / lid of the tank if they prefer. The first few weeks was a nightmare as I hardly saw the babies eating except slimying around at the base of the tank. I mashed up cuttlefish into powder (like Paul suggested in the past spoon the cuttlefish) and mixed with a few drops of water. I did put the babies onto the cuttlefish powder all the time (almost whenever I go into the room, I wake them up and make them eat!) I now put cucumber (usually the end part of the cucumber, they like the skin), sweet potatoes, courgette, apples (not you, but the fruit ), iceberg lettuce (mainly the end part, near the stem). I tried other fruits and veg, but they are not keen. They start to eat after a couple of weeks but growing is a lot slower than margie babies or fulicas (I only have hatched those babies, so cannot compare with other species.) I prefer to put the babies in a smaller tank, even I have got 100+ babies atm because it's easier to check and count the #s. Hope this helps.

Mine like lettuce, the softer round lettuce leaves, they also eat thinly sliced courgette and thinly sliced sweet potato. My adults won't touch lettuce but the babies seem to like it Well done "Happy Daddy" Val
